WESTERN AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE _ Drama/Thriller/Psychology

The Droneman is a contemporary Czech film about a drone business run by two friends, whose personal values cannot be more divergent. One is a businessman nicknamed Plech (“Tin” starred by Jiří Mádl), a free-time rapper, who dreams of having lots of money and unshakable security. The other one Pavel (starred by Kryštof Hádek) is a Chemist and an excellent flight navigator, who has recently returned from Israel, dreams of justice and believes in personal responsibility of fairness in the world.

For these former secondary school classmates, drones are their pass to many areas of human affairs which are not commonly accessible. Their wide clientele includes a presidential candidate, artists organizing happenings, power plants, a designer, whose luxury purses are carried by drones while walking a catwalk, and many more. The drones in the film were used in a unique way, in the worldwide context. There are spectacular scenes of one drone spraying a tower captured from another drone and many places shown from a bird’s-eye view.

The drones play an irreplaceable role in the film, however, the story is much more complex and everything changes when one of the friends decides to use the drone to reset the justice. This film brings new technology on the screen while opening old questions about the sense of justice and the right of revenge to achieve absolute fairness.
