This is a COVID Safe event and QR code check in on arrival is required. Social distancing applies on the day. Hand sanitiser will be available.
This is an outdoor event and is weather dependent. * Please follow the Cootamundra Strings Facebook Page in case of changes due to the weather.
Upon arrival follow marshal directions to the designated car parking area. After parking please check in at the registration desk with your ticket and complete your COVID safe check in before making your way to gathering space.
Please bring:
- picnic lunch and drinks
- a picnic rug or camp chair to sit upon.
- closed in shoes & long pants are recommended
- hat
- sunscreen
- insect repellent
- water bottle
- wet weather gear.
Please be aware this is a working agricultural property with some uneven ground. Keep to the event designated areas and supervise children.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From Cootamundra head to Wagga on the Olympic Highway. Go under the railway bridge and up the hill. Turn right at Dirnaseer Road. Follow Dirnaseer road all the way to the end (1/2 hour drive) to a T- intersection with Retreat Road. Turn left at T-junction and the Retreat gates will be 100m down Retreat road on your right.
CREATIVITY, CONNECTION, COMMUNITY
This community day is a chance to come together to listen, learn and share at Retreat - facilitated by Wiradjuri artist and custodian Amanda Levett. Amanda and the community will share the importance of following Yindyamarra, caring for and learning from Country. Amanda will lead a series of creative responses and activities on the day.

10am - Morning tea on arrival
10.30 - 12.30 Welcome to Country & Morning session with Amanda Levett
12.30 - 1.30pm Lunch
1.30-2pm Community sharing about regenerative agriculture and the journey the Main family have undergone as they have transitioned to a more holistic method of land care, including cultural access.
2pm - 2.30pm reflection and close
Other site-specific natural elements may be gathered and incorporated from field trips on the property for the community sharing. A team of youth documentary team will be observing and collecting images and elements from the day which will inspire the creative workshops to follow.
“Retreat” is a mixed farming property at Dirnaseer. The Main family are committed to a way of farming regeneratively which also includes allowing cultural access for Wiradjuri community members.
